The Premier League finally made its return to action yesterday after a three-month lay off and it certainly wasn’t short of controversy.

With no fans present in the stadiums, the first game saw Aston Villa and Sheffield United play out a drab, goalless draw – with goalline technology stealing VAR’s limelight, for once.

Elsewhere, Manchester City eased past Arsenal after receiving a huge help in hand from a certain Brazilian defender.
